Voltage regulation
Hi All, Measured the voltage on the 6 volt battery on my Arrow and found it to go between 7 and 8.5 volts depending on engine speed. This means that at 50 mph the battery, coils and everything else is being subjected to a voltage more than 30% above rated. Fitted a Pazon voltage regulator to replace...

Hi Roger, I have purchased a set of new seals from Millhouse motorcycles. I don't think they are Viton but Millhouse claim that they use them in their own workshop with success. They are also all single lip seals. I believe the engine in my bike has the original mains and seals and top end. It has 4...

Rejuvenating worn crank seals AGAIN
Dear All, I originally experimented with repairing the dried out main seals in my Arrow by spraying a "seal repair" product via an atomiser into the intake at idle. Didn't work! Since then I have been adding a product called "Risolene main seal repair" to the fuel/oil mix at the ...

Re: Rejuvenating dried out out crank seals
Hi Guys, Don't bother with this it is a waste of money and time. I actually soaked a dried out seal in this stuff for almost a week. No difference in flexibility at all. The bike runs as before, easy to start cold and very difficult when hot. My initial findings of an improvement have not proven to ...

Re: Rejuvenating dried out out crank seals
Hi Guys, Update. Bike now starts first kick cold or hot - previously a bit of a mixed bag. Mostly second or third kick cold and sometimes many kicks hot although sometimes not at all. Smoke almost now equal from each exhaust - previously heaps more smoke from the left hand side. Right side exhaust p...

Rejuvenating dried out out crank seals
Hi Guys, The crankshaft seals in my Arrow are leaking. Dried out and cracked perhaps? Anyhow, I have new seals ordered but in the meantime have decided to conduct a small experiment. There are numerous products on the market that are added to engine oil and are supposed to rejuvenate dried out and/o...

Re: ARIEL LEADER ENGINE PROBLEM
Alan, My Arrow does something similar. Runs fine when cold with equal smoke from each cylinder. After a run it blows heaps of smoke from the left and very little from the right and refuses to start again while hot. Left plug is wet and right plug is dry. My guess is a leaking crankshaft seal on the ...

Hi Brian, Sometimes my Yahoo account bounces emails and I have no idea why? I have only just acquired the Arrow and as yet have not made contact with any other Australian owners. Regarding the special tools, I can make most of them myself, probably even the plate and pin providing I had dimensions f...
