Kick start lever

Hi, my kick start lever keeps working itself off on my NH 1955. The grooved shaft seems fine, I think the lever is worn. Any idea how to repair. Maybe a quick fix. Ash

You really can't repair a worn spline as it won't really tighten with a pinch bolt. You could try spreading it and insert a strip of brass shim cut carefully to size and reclamp it. Nev

Shouldn't the pinch bolt locate in the annular groove in the shaft and prevent the lever coming off? I'd confirm the pinch bolt is the correct diameter and not worn. Also check the lever is of the correct design.
