Strange HS frame
This HS frame is forsale, i have told the owner that the number looks like a restamp, what is the opinion of others.
It's an all standard frame no HS features only a broken-off mid rear tank mount, could that be with number 8 of swinging arm frames?
It looks like it's bein filed and a smear of acid to make it old.

Re: Strange HS frame
Here a real 1954 number and the HS picture.
I am sure the 108 is a metric stamping.

Is the serif a dead giveaway?

Re: Strange HS frame
I remain of the opinion that it could, or could not, be genuine. The big question to my mind is the HS prefix before the KSS. I have never seen this before BUT if the frame is genuine then it is one of the very first swinging arm HS frames produced at the time the very first swinging arm non-HS frames were produced. It would be easy for them to get confused in the factory so the HS prefix just could be genuine. What is certain is that someone has worked on the bike to fit alloy hub sliders to single sided hub forks (or vice versa). I have seen this done before but only by a serious Ariel enthusiast - which doesn't help us one bit with this question.

Thank you
Re: Strange HS frame
Denmark ordered a few HS frames with sidecar frame lugs. KSS108 is a HS delivered to Denmark.
