'George Formby's TT Rainbow'

Post by Vincent.vanGinneke »

a W/NG made in to a TT rainbow.
Brownie points for the effort.

But then you look at the asking price, Gulp !

Lethal spare sparkplug position, are you kidding ??
Toolbox misplaced.
Sagged front suspension
Chrono in dash, is this a Indian repro tank with those two holes for either Chrono and/or PA ? yep.
Handlebar gear looks correct, douze points
Front brake lever reversed, rod outside stay (please Mr. Restorer, pay attention)
Engine breather canister drooping off exhaust pipe, no comment...
Rocker oil line takes the scenic route.
I have my doubts about the girder part of the front fork, Indian repro ?
Is it o.k. to 'adjust' a log book? color of bike has been filled in with a blue biro.
Engine number ..1048 a bit to far to the right on the crankcasemouth.....
Framenumber F3343 ,... surprisingly the framenumber is 'just' not visible in all those pics.
Both mudguards dont follow the curve of the wheels as they should.

Ahhhh, who cares, if you pass by on this ukulele no one will notice, only your Bank manager

9995,- GBP and it's yours

Now we're making look-alikes of TT-bike look-alikes! That's a new one.

"This is an accurate reproduction of the TT winning Rainbow, using a correct Ariel Red Hunter..."

Like most TT look-alikes, this one is not very convincing - the cylinder head for example. Not so accurate after all.

Cheers
