Wanted Ariel OHV conrod A6/248

im new here and Thanks John for registering and
activating.
I have a new projek and many missing parts
in first for the Engine i wanted a conrod A6/248.
I have some A6/247 but what is the difference between 247 and 248?

Hello, you have a side valve conrod, the 248 is listed as ohv only. You have a very nice project, good luck with it ,regards Andy.

What model is the bike. Year? It appears to be about 1931. They ran a large dia gudgeon pin (1"?) around that time but I think the rod length is the same as later 500 bikes. I can check one I have here for length from a 1930 model G, if that helps. Nev

Hi Nev,it looks like a 29,the tank and center stand are defo 29

Unless you are going for originality above all else, the large dia gudgeon piston is not too readily available. The later small ones are easier to get pistons for. Give me a little time and I will measure a few and compare the lengths. The VH rods have a different big end steel bush diameter with the parallel pin and steel flywheels. Nev
