NH350 Petrol Tank and speedo questions

I feel I am getting somewhere now with my NH350, it is starting easier now, but I have a few questions.

a) the petrol tank has a pressure gauge fitted but there is no connection to the engine. Its a 1952 a friend has a 1950 and says there is a small tube which runs down to the crankcase on his. Mine however does not seem to have a connection to the engine. Have I got the wrong tank fitted?

b) The speedo works but the mile meter part does not, I see speedo's for sale on ebay would it be ok to buy one of these to fit in the speedo's place whilst I send away my speedo to be repaired? Can anyone recommend a place to have the instrument repaired?

Thanks

I am sadly unable to recommend Chronometric Instrument Services.

A 1950 NH should have a tank instrument panel and the 1952 models should not have the instrument panel. I don't think a 1952 NH had an oil pressure gauge fitted originally.

Chris therefore I have the wrong tank fitted. That is a mystery solved. I cannot afford to change it this year but it is now on the to do list. Do you know where I could get the correct tank from?

Have you checked a 1952 parts list? That will tell you whether the oil pressure gauge was there or not in that year.

A quick check of a 1952 singles parts book suggest that there was no oil gauge fitted.

Simon you are right I have not checked the parts list, but thanks for the answer. I should have thought of that myself.

On Draganfly's web site they indicate that they can get a tank for you if you order it.

The twins (and probably the Sq4) have oil gauges in 1952. I reckon the Drags tank will be Indian sourced. It's probably all you will get these days. Get an unchromed or unpainted one and check and alter if needed. Your model is painted only, so that helps. Someone should want your current tank. The 52 tank for the twin is fairly bulky in style Speedo in cast aluminium fitting on fork tops.Nev
