It's quite a common strategy on Ebay now. There's no expectation of receiving £99 but someone can make an offer of what they think it is worth to them and perhaps be successful.

For some reason people often list items at insanely outrageous prices.
Allegedly ( = I'm not convinced!) this is something to do with not paying fees for relisting items when they come back into stock each time - having been unavailable and so at that time are listed at prices no-one is likely to pay.
Feel free to take that with as much salt as you choose!

It certainly is madness, you can pick up a new one for less,I saw one go on E-bay for £88.00 not long after I picked one up for about £25.00 with oil tank,
I just refuse to bid on overpriced gear it usually turns up eventually just a waiting game.
