Ok so I need you guys once again.
I'm putting the engine together and now I have a bit of problem with the end float.
Bought some schims from draganfly.
I Will use my old bearing but i broke the original schims with the puller, I put some new in and got the result 0,08-0,09mm and that is just about to high i guess?
That was with two schims (0,10 and 0,30 mm)
I got one schim that messured 0,48 so i tried that one, but then the crank did'nt spinn free.

So how do you guys do it? Should i just be happy with the 0,08 end float?

0.08mm is .0035" in the Queens English.What were you aiming for,zero end float,allways risky with a bike engine,unless its a Velo with tapered rollers.If youre really fussy,you could get someone with a surface grinder to take a lick from your .48mm shim.Remember--end float equals happy motor,--No end float equals unhappy owner [fixing seizure damage.]Regards John.

I've read on a10/a7 forums about end float and a lot of guys tell you that you should aim for zero end float.
I had the same idea with the surface grinder, but you Think i should be happy with the 0,08mm play I got?
I have never done this before and I want it to get as good as possible.
What could be the downside with to much float?

Surface grinding thin material is a tricky business.There a good chance it will buckle upward into the wheel,and be flung from the machine.Why dont you rub it down manually on a lapping plate.I personally would be happy with the 003 endfloat,next to nothing.Beginners allways think endfloat is a big deal.Regards John.

Yeah I guess I worry for nothing.
Now I filed down the shim so i have a at 0,002-0,0025. Dont Think it makes a difference but it sure make me feel better
