Girder Fork Identification & Hi From a New Member
Hi, I Mistakenly purchased these forks in the belief they would fit my 1946 NG350, They don't could anyone help me identify them so they can be resold to someone who has a use for them. I have more photos, and realize the links aren't original. The damper assembly and spindle came with the forks. Thanks

Your fork appears to be a Brampton, fitted to Panthers in the late twenties and early thirties, and possibly also to Ariels at the same period. They used a similar looking fork, but may have made it themselves.Anyhoo, its too early for 1946 by about 15 years. You should probably look for a WNG girder, slightly too long ,but easy to find[relatively speaking]Regards John.

Re:
These are the Brampton forks on my 1931 P&M Panther that I am restoring, they do look similar (there is a strong shadow from the flash which makes the legs look a lot thicker than they really are).

Maybe someone in the Panther Owners' Club would be interested.

Bob.

I think you have a 1931 Ariel forks, or the lighter 2 stroke model, with home made links.

Bob,the forks on your bike are indeed Bramptons, but are near exact copies of the Webb fork.I suspect Bramptons "saw the light" as it were and dropped their antiquated looking earlier fork with both front and rear tubes bent, and widely spaced.I have [in pieces] a 1930 600cc, a 1936 500 sloper bored out[in pieces ] and a 1939 600 sloper ,was running, but now being properly restored.I am not a member of the POQ-sorry POC,and never have been.My experience is they want 20 quid to tell you the time of day.Regards John.

Thanks everyone who's posted a reply it's much appreciated, I should have come here sooner. I have had others suggest they are for a 31 Ariel so I'll go with that.
I maybe should have mentioned that the handle bar risers do not adjust on the top yolk they are braised solid.

Of course, I can only be an Associate Member . . . I don't have wild hair and a beard
There are some decent guys in the club though (Australian, German and Dutch members in particular).
