SQ4 rotor arm

I have a question about rotor arm. In my SQ4 I have a distributor cap 400135 and rotor arm 404923 (on the picture).
I would like to know, which rotor arm do you use on your motorcycle and how important is the shape? I was told that for distribur cap 400135 I should use rotor arm 400052. As you can see on the picture, I have to find a new one.
There are many shapes of rotor arm, like 403866, 403865... and I'm not sure which one to use.
Thanks,
Andrej

Hello Andrej,

All of the Lucas information I have states the DKX4A uses the 400052 and I can confirm that all three distributors I have, one is on my '51 (40124) the other on my '56 (40486), have the 400052 rotor.

Thank you for your answers, I will order 400052 rotor.

One more question, I have problems with starting the engine, but only from beggining when it's cold. When hot it starts normaly. I was told the spark is too fast, is it possible that is because of rotor arm or I have to set the distributor?

How do I do that?

A new cap might work wonders if its in the same condition as the rotor.Carbon tracking and moisture from condensation make for hard starting. I assume you have wire leads.Regards John.

Can anyone give me a suggestion, where can I find rotor arm 400052 for distributor cap DKX4A?
There is one on ebay, but the manufacturer is Bremi which is not the best choice.
Draganfly doesn't have them.

You can try this supplier http://www.gsparkplug.com/shop/lucas-dr ... 05469.html they also have the cheapest price on ebay as well.

Google "Distrubutor Doctor", they have rotor arms made, and claim to offer the quality that the cheapo imported arms cannot provide. They list a 400052, red in colour to distinguish it from the rest of the tat available.I have no experience of them, other than obtaining a quote for re-furbing my sq 4 dizzy (£180+ vat-ouch!) and no connection, but the website is interesting, Bob

I must tell you that this Red Rotor arm is the same I get from Draganfly, but it’s too small. You can see that from the picture in enclosure.
