Valve lifter 500 vh

Post by Rick Hughes »

Hello iv just joined. Ill be sorting a memship to the club shortly iv managed to aquire a non original VH 500
It was apparently built for hill climbing in the past
Its that not original that with my budget it will stay that way for a year or two
It has alloy wheels different tank no clock
But on the goodside the mag has been rewound
Looking at the frame number which starts with a Y it is in the 1930s.
The main problem is the valve lifter is not on it at all just a blanking bolt.
Does anyone know where I can get the lifter from.
The engine prefix is CD a couple of years later than the frame.
Also I have no V5 but I have a report of the older gentleman who sadly is no longer with us rode it to Haughton tower sprint in the north West with a numberplate on
Any help on the valve lifter would be appreciated

Hi Rick,

Welcome aboard! Valve lifters are readily available from Acme Stainless or Draganfly - https://draganfly.co.uk/product-categor ... ead-valve/

If you have a look at the 'Numbering Guidance' document here https://www.arielownersmcc.com/dating.html you will see that you engine is from 1938 - your frame as you say is a bit earlier.
cheers
