Hi,
I have an Engine Number of CAMB1428 from a 1957 VH, would anybody be able to help me with the Frame Number it came with.

Oh yes! CAPR 9828. The engine and frame, as a bike, were last recorded as advertised for sale in Kilwinning in 2023, name unknown, it was on Car and Classic. Neither engine nor frame are listed as duplicated numbers, possibly something fishy...

I only have the Engine and Registration Numbers.
I rode the bike around the UK for 12 months whilst on holiday in 1973, it was the start of my Ariel obsession.
How would I go about tracing the current owners if it is still in the UK.

What hapened to the rest of the bike ?

As I don't have even a name from the advert I am unable to help. It is possible that some of the Scots lads might know the vendor but his advert was probably successful but the new owner has not supplied his details. There is no way of finding the current owner through official channels that I know of. The current owner may be a member who has not given me his machine details so a letter in the magazine may bear fruit.

Just a little story from 1973.
I had been working at Aviemore in Scotland and was heading to London where I was to leave the Ariel while I visited the Munich Beer Festival.
Heading towards the Firth of the Forth Road Bridge the chain broke and wrapped itself around the rear sprocket shearing the retaining studs. With no time, parts or idea of where to find the parts I spotted an RACV bloke on the side of the road and offered the bike to him, he was a tad suspicious at first but eventually accepted the bike.
