Hello,
I am a member for over 30 years and owner of several Ariel motorcycles, I'm having trouble with the kickstarter on Burman CP 1 Gearbox
Kickstarter is very difficult to activate. When I declutch it is free !
I can't start the engine.

I'have completely disassembled the gearbox, and everything seems fine...
Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Eric From France

When you say it is difficult to activate, could you explain a little more about what happens or what does not happen. Was the bike OK before this or have you just built it?

If you take the spark plug out, can you turn the engine by turning the rear wheel?

If the engine is good, and the gearbox also; then I would inspect the clutch. Maybe a worn bearing is allowing the clutch to contact the casing, causing friction.
