Hi, I am trying to identify my grandads once owned Ariel motorcycle, I believe the registration was BBC 806, unfortunately he remembered little about the bike other than it was sort of a trials bike? Or atleast modified like that at the time probably around the 1940s/50s I can’t remember exactly though he mentioned something to do with rear springs and that he saw a similar bike many years ago at the Sammy miller museum.

Any help would be appreciated

Reg is not on Swansea not on the club's register, the only other info is that BC is a Leicester number issued between Feb and Dec of 1937. It would not have had rear suspension originally.

If it had rear springs and was from the 1950s it would probably have been an HT 500 (trials competition model), Sammy Miller has at least one in his museum... 8-) :D
According to the Kithead Trust, Leicester Records Office (Long Street, Wigston Magna, LE18 2AH (0116 257 1080)) has registration allocation records from 1950 to 1974 so if you might be able to pay them a visit and check out the 1950s registration marks!
