I have decided to sell my 1946 Sq4 and my 1951 VH along with all the related spare parts, tools, manuals etc. The price for the lot is Canadian $27,000 (approximately US $20,000 or GBP 15,000). I would consider any offer on the lot or on any individual items. Delivery is possible to some parts of Eastern Canada but packing and shipping to anywhere else would be the buyer's responsibility. For more information or additional photos please don't hesitate to ask via Private Message.

Lovely machines Chris, are you quitting riding?

Paul,
Thank you for the kind comment. I won't be quitting if I don't sell both bikes! So far not a nibble from the members of this Forum. I've had response from other sites but no sale yet.
Chris

A European member of this Forum has expressed an interest in these bikes but neither he nor I have any experience with overseas motorcycle shipping. Can anyone here suggest a trusted broker or perhaps offer some pertinent advice?

I can't help you with export, but 9 years ago I had Chas Mortimer import my WNG from Italy. They handled the money, passing it over to the vendor when they were satisfied that the bike was as I had shown them and described. It was a very painless experience..

They are now Moving Motorcycles a bit more expensive but OK. I have used them twice. This is not going to help Chris though as he is in Cananada.

Thank you to Simon and Roger for taking the time to respond. I contacted Chas Mortimer who referred me to Shippio.com who referred me to Huli International Movers. By the time those referrals had happened I had learned from World Cargo that it would cost over Cdn. $2,000 to crate, insure and ship a bike from Montreal to Europe. On top of that would be the cost of a customs broker in Europe and the transport to and from the shipping points. With all that, the thought of selling a bike to a European buyer has become much less attractive!

Hi Chris, At least 2 different people have told me they fly their bikes to Europe on Air Canada for about $1500 to tour over there. The bike flies on the same plane and they ride it from the airport. Makes me think you can find something cheaper than $2000.

Hi SE,
Thanks for input. Perhaps the people you know had taken advantage of Air Canada Cargo's Fly Your Bike program which was cancelled two or three years ago. I don't think there is any question that at the present time shipping by boat is a less expensive option than air freight but I may be wrong.
Regards, Chris
