Hi all
My '61 Sport has had a complete rebuild, with Pezon ignition and a Makuni carb.

It started and runs sweet. Did a lovely 20mile run in the sunshine and it pulls and runs really strongly. However, at the local pub yesterday, after an hour or so went to start it, everyone watching.... and it didnt... oh the emraasment...🙈
My starting process was, choke on, ignition on prod prod,prod..🤬🤬🤬
FINALLY started with a long bump start. Got home and after half hour or so it started 1st prod...I'm suspecting engine flooding and didnt have a plug spanner...that was dumb of me...

I'm going to change the plugs today, but curious if any one else has had similar problems.
I didnt know it had a flat battery emergency start ignition setting BTW..
According to the hand book starting process is...check on, 2 prods, ignition the on and "it will start" 😂
Is this the correct and best way to start?

Also I had a good laugh having found the ARIEL "TYRE INFLATION DEVICE" in the storage area...a white bicycle pump..😂😂.
Thanks guys

Hello, Do you turn off the fuel and run the engine for a bit when stopping for a while especially on a hot day. On a warm day it may be best at first to try starting without the use of the starter circuit, ie the starter lever . One thing which I found out by experience is with the starter lever down don't touch the throttle . Brian H.

I think its finally sorted, a combination of crappy fuel and tank filter and inline filter.

Hello, The engine in the Arrow shown has alloy cyclinders and was mildly tuned by Fahron so uses slightly different jets in the Mikuni carb but I'll check what they should be in a standard engine and get back to you. Brian H.

Hello, These are the jets etc for the standard Leader/Arrow engine - pilot 30, main 130/140, needle jet 182 N-8, NEEDLE 5DP7, slide 2.0, air jet 0.5 Motocarb near Liverpool is the best place to go . If the engine has been altered it make need variations on the above. You will need a rubber adaptor to fix the carb to the engine and some way of connecting to the air cleaner or use separate air cleaner. I have a alloy extension which allows the rubber ariel part to be connected to the carb , they are £ 17.00 but you may want to make your own. Brian.

Some more information I should have added. I used a 26 m/m carb on the Arrow but there is a 28 m/m one available. Brian.
