I would like to find my late Father's Square Four

Hello. I am new the Club and have joined to see if I can track down my late father's Square Four. I never saw it and have no photographs of it, so that makes the task a little challenging!

All I know is that he owned it in Somerset in the 1950's. His name was Russell Webb and he lived in Keinton Mandeville in Somerset.

Is there a register of owners anywhere or can owners check their old registration documents? Or is there another way?

Of course I don't even know if the bike still exists.

I would very much appreciate any input/help.

Many thanks, Ray Webb

We do have a register of bikes and owner's, I look after it but it was only started in the 1970's and was suspended a few times. In any case these searches are usually fruitless as only about 5% of bikes have survived and even with the registration number it often not possible as many records, especially early ones do not include the registration number. There are 2 R Webbs listed, 1 in NZ and one near Windsor, neither with a SQ4 and both date from the 1990's.
You would need at least the registration number to have any hope, sorry.

Thank you for the quick reply. Yes, I don't have a lot to go on and don't know the bike regn or even if it still exists!

Do you know if he bought it new when he was in Somerset?
(Might give a clue about at least part of the registration number!)
