Wanted: Oil filter for 1936 4F

Hello Arielists,
I need to replace the oil filter element; part no1584-33.
Can anyone lead me to a supplier?
Do owners make a replacement element (IE modify one that is available)?

I do have the original filter element number but, unfortunately, the current owners of Techalemit do not have the drawing so they are unable to make one. However, if you get an element for an AJS 350 (I think the later unit construction model) it is the correct diameter and slightly over twice as long. So you can cut the wire reinforcing cage to a suitable length, cut the felt element about 1/4" longer, fold it back over the wire cage and sew it into position. You can get two Ariel filters out of one AJS filter. Ideally, you need an original filter to work from to get the length correct.

I have the original (torn) felt element as a sample.
Would you know the AJS part no please?

I don't have a clue what the AJS parts numbers look like as a whole, let alone any specific part number. Sorry.

Hi Paul,
Thanks so much for the follow-up. I was leaning towards that filter, and was trying to get hands on one to measure.
The support wire on the original is on the outside of the felt element, which is necessary when the oil flow is from inside to outside. The picture for 042061 shows the support wire on the outside also, confirming it has been designed for the same flow direction.
I have pics of the original element, and a sketch of the dimensions, but haven't been able to work out how to post the pics.
The original element is 25.4mm OD, x 18.85mm ID x 60mm length. The collar on end is 28.6mm OD x 5mm long.
