I thought maybe my life-expired garage was the reason I suffer lots of surface rust over winter - but here in Weston-super-Mare whether I'm near the sea or not depends on if the tide's in, or out!

Refitting my rockerbox, I use just a smidgen of super high temp cheap builders silicone on my re-used copper gaskets

ni Steven i the spread the silicone on the caskets and let it dry a bit before fitting and tightening them up , if you fit
it straight away with the silicone still wet it pushes the silicone to the outer edges of the gasket , and the silicone is just sealing the outer edges of what you are fitting , if you take of something that has been fitted without letting it dry you will see that there is no silicone on the faces or gasket

I just kind of wet the gasket with the silicone, almost nothing left so it dries very quick.
For once my ferc went back in no problem.

For once, or so I thought, a few days of full on repair and servicing with not even a look at my insulating tape. No electrical work at all. I was very proud of myself. All back together and the right front indicator dead. Ohh dear. I must have tugged on the wire when I removed the fairing.
All good now.
