Re: 1946 Ariel NG Project
I guess we never will know Simon, the standard battery boxes share the same dimensions as far as I know. Raising the platform as illustrated on the drawing will cause one way or another a new problem. The old replica boxes where made from hard plastic, so lucky enough the rubber ones can flex… It also has to do with the nut on top which restricts the place where upper strap is hinged.

To keep the battery from going places I welded a strip at the rear having two 'ears' left & right.
In use they are not very noticable.
This holder is for a larger battery but it shows the idea.

Clever thinking Vincent. On the right side (behind de battery box) I have hidden the bobbin. As you can see the lid of the box touches the upper frame lug so I assume it can’t go anyware.

Mudguards arrived today, on it’s own not to bad but still some work to do on them. Black one is the original Ariel item…

Re: 1946 Ariel NG Project
Thank you Vincent! Still a way to go, where not yet there:
All the rear mudguard stays, all electrics, rear chain guard not there, Altette absent, speedo cable not there, etc etc. The mudguards where a real pain, but they are more or less in shape now. On its own they are looking quite good, but the radius is not spot on…

We’re almost there… (speedo cable, chainguard) and now also with enough charging capacity!
All in all I spend a jolly good time (and money…) with this project and now finaly reached it’s end
