Re: ARIEL MF
Hi to all i am also embarking on a rebuild of a 1932 ariel MF 350 not a full restoration just a full stripdown and rebuild i would be very interested in what the correct profile of the mudguards should be and also if anyone could point me in the right direction of what threads should be used at present i have a mix of BSF cycle thread and even metric! .I will shortly be splitting the crankcases if our friend from poland requires any crankshaft measurements then no problem
Many thanks in advance Paul

here are some pictures of the wheels fitted to my MF frame number B3732 believed to be 1932 drums are 5.5 inch 19" rims and half inch wheel spindles
Re: ARIEL MF
Hello Paul. Where are you from? Maybe I'll do the fenders copy (version 1932) in the summer. Are you intrested it? I see that you have a wheel with smaller drum version 5.5 ". I wanted to export version 6.5".

Re: ARIEL MF
Hello,
i'm an owner of a MF 31. I have donated on PDF the parts and the owners manual to this forum. Besides the wheels whom are 18" the primary gearbox is hard to find also the cross over for the brake(brake is on the righthand iso the left). There are about 500 MF's build. I have photo's from the brake drums. The webfork spring is also different and hard to find. I know someone in holland who let it made by a spring factory( copied the original). The opening in the tank is for the speedometer which was an option at that time. I have the original cover saying " fit smids speedometer in here" installed. At the time i bought it there was little internet and i had to find all info from everywhere. Mine is not "for the purists " a pure 31 or 32. I think it was at the change from 31 into 32. The first used all the old spares and mixed it with the later ones. When i started i had to find out everything from the manual and make copies out of that. But it's riding and that is what counts.

I recently managed to get most of a 1932 MF and 1929 LH in boxes. They'd been stripped since the early 1980s. I've put the MF together loosely as far as I can to see what's there and what's not and am starting to do the same with the LF. There appears to be quite a number of parts left over although I think most of these are LF and not MF. I will probably sell off the LF to help pay for the MF restoration....
1939 600 OHV 4F, 1956 MKII Square Four, a Healey, 1939 OH 250, 1939 OG 250 plus a couple of OG250 projects, 1920 Ariel V twin project and a variety of lesser makes

Today I bought a second frame for parts for my ariel. In addition, a second rear wheel with a screw and nut.
