I think they are all 20 tpi. British Cycle. Drilling the holes is not difficult any stand drill with a depth stop is adequate. drilling on the inside face is considered best and don't drill where it will weaken things near the big end eye. The effect or removing metal s more pronounced the further it is from the mainshaft centres PROJECTED to the line between mainshaft and BE centre at a right angle.( Draw that one out to understand it) It's NOT rocket science once you see the Principle.
