I am fortunate enough to have a 1937 VH500 so it is interesting to look at your photos. The bike looks pretty good although I suppose you have to take the cost of restoring it into consideration unless you prefer the original look. I would note that the tank panel doesn't look right but it could be the angle of the photograph. I don't see spaces for the oil pressure gauge and the clock.

These bikes are fun to ride and look great when restored.

Hi everyone,
thanks for all you informative posts, just re read my original post and noted that I said the Ariel was a VH500
it is in fact a 1937 VG500 that a previous owner
has fitted some Red Hunter parts.
Unfortunately I will not be able to purchase the lovely
machine. Have very good friend after a pre war one.
But having trouble talking him into this one, as it's some
distance away, so he would have to purchase with out
viewing add to that freight costs and it blows his budget.
Shame as I am sure he would love the bike once he had it.

Shame to try to make a VG into a Red Hunter. I like the look of this less admired model. Unfortunately it's a long way from NZ to Canada.

Owner listed on auction site here in NZ equivalent to Ebay sold for 11k NZ dollars a our New 5k pounds
