Where can I find the engine number on an AKD v-twin?

I've been back into history and dug out my AKD file. Not too much relevant to Ariels, but I'll attach the pages that describe the V twin motor. It shows the odd flywheels and the double bearings of the chain drive motor nicely.
I also found the engine and frame numbers of the AKD twin I had: A5325 and 3328 (AKD, not Ariel, frame number). The engine and frame had the look that they had always been together, and the frame was definitely a 1914 model AKD. By the way, there was an earlier series of AKD engine numbers without the prefix "A"; I believe that the same numbers were used in both series. That is there might be an Abingdon engine with engine number 1032 and a different engine with engine number A1032.
In my file, I also found a note that a "1914" Ariel was mentioned in The Classic Motor Cycle in January 1990 with engine number A9664 and frame 7515.

The engine number on the Bonham's Ariel-AKD mentioned above is on a raised boss on the crank case, on the timing side near the bottom.

Hi Leon, These pages are a great help thanks very much. I have the parts lists but they don't show the detail that these diagrams do. I can see the different sized flywheels clearly in the AKD drawings.

And now there is a 1920-1921 Vtwin at Bonhams of wich the owner asked the club to date it, they want to sell it as 1915 becouse a pre Aug. 1915 will bring more money.

If the pre 1927 archive of the Ariel factory wasn't distroied than we would have missed all this fun, nothing to ask, nothing to find.

It`s a belt drive.

I attach a photo of my AKD flywheels. Engine no A10032. I am sure it is 1921. Incidentally I always believed it a mismatched engine in the MAG type frame until i came across a 1921 catalogue picture.
