Was the oil returning to the tank ??
Thinking blocked scavenge pipe, air leak, or oil pipe connections reversed (sorry if teaching Granny . . . . . ).

Thanks for the replies.
Making progress.
Head oil feed and oil gauge feed were leaking, those are fixed.
Another leak on engine bottom, made new gasket for oil pickup plate, looks like leak between cases.
