It wasn‘t that difficult, and there wasn’t any distortion. Just be sure to put something between the jaws of the lathe and the piston so as not to score the skirt. The IMD pistons have enough thickness to skim the tops down to flat, also confirmed by IMD themselves. I gave them a ring and they were very helpful.

Solid skirts are OK but many are slotted. I hold them down to the surface of a mill using the gudgeon holes and a fly cutter on the top. Nev

Thanks Nev.
If I do need to take some off the pistons milling is the way to go, so easy when you think about it.
There I was thinking of jigs to support the piston and turning them, milling is so easy.
