Cheval and delivery to Europe
I'm interested to find out if any members particularly in Europe, if import duties or handling charges have been applied since the UK left Europe.
As part of the executive committee it might be something we need to look at.
How would overseas members feel about only being able to Read Cheval either on the website(currently available ) or as a PDF via Email.

Hi Dave,
No charges or import duties. It gets delivered as always. (I’m in Germany)
I wouldn’t mind getting it as a pdf instead of a paper copy though.
Cheers,
Gui

Have to wait a bit longer, a week or so, to get the cheval.
But prefer that piece of paper at any time.
Lays on the kitchen table it finds always someone interested in.

Re: Cheval and delivery to Europe
Dave , this is a small £16 purchase from Tracey tools , I paid online to Post NL €9.16 / £7.70 , plus what I lost on the exchange rate when I paid from my Dutch bank account , so its +50% ,more , a larger purchase was Sq4 pistons and liners at £446 and they refunded the £76 vat after delivery through Paypal , I had to pay £106 to UPS which was 21% vat and customs handling , so I only paid £12 extra , so its relatively cheaper to spend more . In May last year NatWest closed my account of 45 years due to Brexit , so UK purchases arent so easy as they were before Brexit. Evilbay Global Shipping is another story I buy nothing from sellers that use it , on an ebay auction UK they tell me how much import duties are due on the current bid , and it increases with the bids.

Re: Cheval and delivery to Europe
hi dave ;
maybe if there is a problem that occurs with the cheval delivery charges we could subsidise any postal costs to overseas members who still want paper copies by covering this in our uk membership cost each year , seeing as we live here and costs to us are not the same .
we could even allow uk based members [or anyone from anywhere ] to add an extra few pounds as a donation towards this each year when renewals come around , all for the benefit of fellow club members .
i know my polish workmates have a whole network of transportation for their own personal parcels of essentials etc through europe which involves drivers and freinds who bring goods in and out and pick up and drop off at various shops or businesses , i think it costs very little or nothing at all , they all help eachother out .
regards
ian

I'm dating Cheval a little later, but I don't pay any fees. Our Polish friends receive it about a week earlier.
we are Slovakia.

Re: Cheval and delivery to Europe
Hi Dave,
for more than 42 years it had been a pleasure to receive cheval monthly as a paper print. Allways a big event. So the 2nd best would be to receive cheval as a .pdf. No extra payment so far.
I discussed extra fees on printed papers with Roger the other day. If I remember correctly there is no extra payment due on printed papers. Hope it stays like that.
Regards Klaus

Re: Cheval and delivery to Europe
No charges for CdF here too - as an old schooler I would prefer it printed.
If I we get a parcel from UK we have to pay 6€ to our post as handling fee - value doesn't matter. Our VAT tax is added on top.
Regards
Markus
