Re: Square four pressure problems again
The plug could work OK by drilling either one central hole,or a number of small peripheral holes.......A central hole would be easier ,just so it was smaller than the spring ,and the spring could seat on a ledge ......the release pressure would have to be set by trial.

Make sure the end of the crank isnt cross drilled to flow released oil away.

Re: Square four pressure problems again
Hi All,
Thanks for your replies and pics. I went and visited Lester and he has lent me the very thing. I put it on the bike and turned it over on the paddock starter... And got 80ish PSI on the gauge with oil coming past the valve in the prescribed manner. So the problem is solved. Just need to make a copy of the valve I have been lent.
Cheers,
Fletch

Hi Paul,
What is the purpose of the extra bit of plumbing in Guy's picture.
Thanks,
Fletch

Guy - no problem, I’m happy to see the picture get recycled.
Fletch - the narrow copper pipe is the oil feed to a cam spray bar. It drops oil on the cam lobes.
