Only use a six-sided socket and make sure the socket is slim enough to fully engage on the sludgetrap hex. It is quite easy to mangle the head. See previous post:

hi Mike i got a six side walldrive deep socket and i did not have to turn it down and if you are undoing it from the sump you do not need a extension on the socket to undo it
