Burman GB gearbox

Greetings from across the pond! I hope you have all weathered the pandemic without getting ill. So far so good here in Canada, no one I know nor clubmates have been stricken with the illness. I come begging for info again, this time for any photo or drawing of the placement of the "Gear change Quadrant Primary Spring". I sent for the booklet from Drags and all it has is a lousy copy of the blowup and no info on placement. Very disappointing as a to any usable info. So far I have searched every book on Ariel and Burman but no assembly information. Anything anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all and stay well !! Regards, Dave.

Hi Dave,
I'm not sure to which spring you mean but by chance I was putting a BA box together today and quit just before putting the outer cover back on. Come on over tomorrow and you can take a look.

HI Dave their is a two springs that are for the gear change one is the flat spring that is in the post that Dave has put up and their is a spring that goes on the gear change shaft between the gear change quadrant plate and the outer case and their is a oil seal that goes in the case from the inside of the case before you fit the shaft and their is a good DVD on E BAY about BURMAN gearboxes i am just doing a full rebuild on my on my GB 5 gearbox and i find the gear change shaft wears a lot and gives poor gear change

Thanks Dave, that is how I placed it but my problems are that when I removed the cover things fell out but one pin from the lay shaft side of the shift drum{cam} was missing, the cotter pin as well and those parts were not there..... also someone had put shims between gears on the main shaft. I have no idea who ever worked on it but it did not run like that. I made a new pin. All the bushes were worn out as well so I have replaced them and the bearings and large mainshaft seal. I still haven't found a seal for the kick start shaft {outside } Drags doesn't have it......and it is not a standard or metric size. Also I have looked for the DVD for the GB on Ebay and can't find it.
Thanks to Chris as well for inviting me over { a short drive } He also has a tranny apart but not the same. We had a great visit and i took some photos of his 1950 for reference, he also had some internet addresses for me to check for some of my missing parts.

HI THE E BAY number for the DVD is 323460896320 AND TRY THE club gearbox spares or john Budgen for parts as well
