You could extend the spindle. Weld an extension on and turn it down, or drill the shaft and make a stepped extension...

I'd give the Powerspark one a go.

You've seen this, right?

Thats useful. It tells you that the shaft is common to the DKX2. there's a DKX2 body and shaft for sale at Hitchcocks:

Spindle length may not matter, I guess it wouldn't support any pinion fitted as the pin goes through the plain part of the gear.

Some previous discussions around late Squariel distributors....

These may be of use to the current problem, or they may be just more confusing

Yes Simes im chasing that dizzy/dynamo. Ive already got a perfectly good CS35D, so just want the dizzy and would sell on the dynamo at cost.
I tried Dizzydoctor first of all and was quoted about £350! Yikes
The Hitchcocks one may be from a Meteor? So I may have to replace the innards anyway. Id takd a punt on the Powerspark one but unfortunately got told last week i was losing my nice job :( :? So having willingly procured a money-pit, im now having to be more circumspect with my budget. Greenspark have a Dkx4a on their site for £950!!!!! Must be gold-plated
Im sure that there must be data on what differentiates the dkX4a from the dk4a, dkYxa etc etc, then perhsps i can get a body and shaft and source the relevant springs and weights that I presume are Ariel-specific?

I think Greenspark are telling you they are out of stock. I've seen a few companies selling on ebay showing prices like that.

BTW, I got a mail from Draganfly today indicating that they now have springs in stock.

You've got to start somewhere, however small!
