CP box is an original option. from the factory. (If you wanted it that way). The original motor is not any higher tune than a normal VH. nev

Taken from my own posting in Nov 2016 .
You have been warned ! :

This deserves more attention.
If I understood it correctly a Paul Wexham has run Cotswold Classic Ltd from april 2004 till his disqualification in march 2016.
Leaving a gap of 181.704 GPB , money he owes to various customers , buyers and sellers.
Now 'We Sell Classic Bikes' has taken it's place run by his son Josh(?)Wexham.
I reconise the Ariel NG, it has been on this forum before, I think I commented on it.
Looking at the backdrop in 'old' pictures from Cotswold Classics and 'We Sell Classic Bikes' this probably shows the grounds of the estate belonging to Paul Wexham.

I like the bit " To Full Works Spec !!!" - it's a real catch-cry these days. Somehow we've moved into the age where vendors can say whatever they like, evidence or not.

I wonder if the "indented tank" tells us something about the front fork, or maybe the combination of the front fork and the W/NG frame. Period illustrations of the VCH (see the previous thread http://forum.arielownersmcc.com/viewtopic.php?t=7558 , and the illustration accompanying the ad) show the fork stanchions carried well forward of the steering head, avoiding the need for the tank indents.

I quite like the bike - a nice way to explore the green lanes - but it should be advertised accurately.

Cheers

Leon

Also on offer with them.
A so called 1938 NH or perhaps a 1953 NH with girders fitted ?
And NO I am not going to mention the top links ....oeps I just did !
XA on crankcase makes it from 1953, the 'pineapple' shaped cilinder is correct for that year.
Also the more rounded oil tank is correct for '53.
Missing toolbox and I wonder where the rear mudguard is attached to near the sadlle, btw, the rear guard is to deep so not from this model
Rear chainguard has the looks of someting not Ariel, (japanese?) lower one,... ehhhh who needs a lower one ?
Mudguard stays are made up from bits of tubing, nice home effort but not worth it.
Tank is a VH model, the remark about getting it chromed most likely means that they then fit a chromed Indian one on it .
Oil pressure gauge is from a car, watertight ? -ofcourse Sir !-
All yours for only 7650,- Great Brexit Pounds , remember : it's only money

My W/NG might look a bit scabby, but its all original, running well and cost half that... well, if you exclude the tyres, speedo, brakes, tubes, wiring and Mr. Tony Cooper's services!
cheers

The CO engined W/NG was the bike described as a 1948 VCH in the recent H&H auction at National Motorcycle Museum - It sold for £7818 on the day.

My apologies for not commenting on this bike earlier. The engine was indeed one of the first VCH engines made but it left the factory in May 1949 in a COM prefix frame. So its definitely someones quite nice trials bitsa rather than anything resembling an original VCH.
