Fins on Open Valve Head

Hi,

I just got my 350cc open valve head back from a welder who'd being doing some fin repairs for me.
On the inlet side, the four existing fins have a groove in the middle. Should the two shiny new fins (centre left) have the same groove?

My guess is that they should, but thought I would check before getting the Dremel out.

My guess is there shouldend be a groove at all so your welder has more work..
