Late VH Battery Carrier

Post by norman_john »

I'm in need of a battery carrier for a late VH, Drags ref is 6151-56A but at £82 its rather steep. Does anyone have a half decent one at a fair price? I need everything from the base, strap and links/screws/nuts to replace the rotting wooden one on mine! Please dont ask why I bought this bike, maybe it once seemed like a good idea or I maybe just pitied it too much, but probably I was not of sound mind.

Welcome to the "Classic Bike Restoration Club" - we need a 'Bike Buyers Anonymous' therapy group  .

We also need to put our finances into some form of escrow to stop our wives finding out what we actually spend on the things  .

Have you tried Peter Kemp (single spares), or John Budgen

John doesn't have any no, didnt think to try Peter but good point, I will. Otherwise an FH one and a hacksaw would be a happy solution, thanks will let you know.
Kind regards
John

If I flatten it, it can fit into a envelop....

The Draganfly's one is slightly different, theirs has a ear for a hinged battery strap and a flat back.
Mine is -I think- the latest model that has a hook-in one piece battery strap and a folded back part to let the wiring pass behind the battery (that's what I always assumed)

Just looked again at Drags site and it's probably this one, put no picture : https://www.draganfly.co.uk/index.php/a ... uct/11917-
and out of stock

Vincent's example, with the slot in strap, is the same as my '58 FH one.
