HELP WANTED: Ariel Burman Gearbox

Post by Tadas.Buchas »

Hello guys!

My name is Tadas Buchas, and I am from Lithuania.

For days I have been looking for information on Burman gearbox that I have obtained, and couldn't find any specific info on it. Could you guys help me?
This gearbox has a number QD 38844 stamped on casing. There's also letter L on top of the gearbox, near sprocket, and K90 stamped under the gearbox (on all three parts of casing). From which exact model is it?
All three gears shift nicely, gears inside of gearbox looks nice, no major (or any) wobbling in axles. Missing second part of push rod and couple of kickstart parts (as seen in photos). Clutch is quite rusted, disc friction material needs replacing, but still in pretty good condition overall. How much can it be worth?

Thanks for the help!

Tadas.

Its a Burman Q box. The `D' means, I think, it has a speedo drive, the `L' means it has low ratio gears inside.

Was fitted to 1929 and 1930 heavyweight Ariels (500 and 550cc), various models.

Whats it worth? Depends what someone would pay for it.
