Speedometer Cable Inner ?

Post by john.nash »

Broken the inner on my "BA/CP box to panel tank" speedo cable.

Can anyone recommend where I can get a new inner from or is it a whole new cable ? :(

Drags do have a complete one but want £36 for it, but ones for other machines are half the price (and often less )?
There must be one from a matchless, for example, that is similar as the box and speedo are the same .. right ?

Party On.

With a speedo end former die, it is possible to make a new inner by cutting a longer inner to length, and squaring the ends with the die.
My Romac cable catalogue does not show cable length/diameter for a CP/BA equiped Ariel, only the later GB models. If you have the dimensions of the inner, it is possible I may have a suitable inner to modify for use as a replacement.
