Speedometer Model G Special 1930

Post by MartinMastad »

I am trying to find the original look of my speedometer “facing”

The bike is a Model G Special from 1930 imported to Norway so I assume the numbers are kilometers pr. hour. I am quite sure it is a Smiths speedometer so I am looking for the Smiths logo and other text on the facing to get it back to how it originally looked like..

That Speedometer of yours is pretty valuable, so, you might consider getting it professionally refurbished by someone such as Ashley Pople here in UK, he does superb work.

Thanks for your answers so far.
Actually I have fixed the rest of the speedometer my self. It is not that difficult. All you need is to be accurate and patient...

I just need a detailed picture of the facing.... to have it properly restored..

Meanwhile I wish all of you Ariel fan a Happy Easter.

Was told this was off a '36 Red Hunter. Its going on my '35 RH. It has small differences to the face of the other PA shown above.
A welcome, very early birthday present from the wife.
