Val Page information

Post by Akumar »

Dear fellow enthusiasts,

I am checking what Val Page's full name was? I am doing some research on an old logbook and one of the listed owners was Joseph Valentine Page. I am not sure if it was the same person as the famous Val Page. The logbook contains a signature by this Mr. Page. Does anyone have a copy of Val Page's signatures to compare?

Thanks.

His full name, as given on his birth certificate, was Valentine Page. I have only come across his initials on works drawings, I don't recall seeing a full signature. What address and date is given in this log book, we know where and when he lived?

If you send me a Private Message (copied if you wish to Roger) showing the signature you have, I will compare it with a copy of his signature from the AOMCC Archives.

You don't say whether the Mr Page in your logbook was the first owner of the bike or whether he bought it as a previously used machine. If he was the first owner, then it would be worthwhile for you to send engine and frame numbers which can be checked against the Despatch Books to see who the bike originally went to. If that was indeed our Val Page, then I would expect this to be apparent in the relevant Despatch Book.
