I checked out the seller of the logbook and his ebay shop, He has loads of watch straps at silly prices and a lot of log books & old mot certificates listed for sale.

Worth knowing for anyone tracing this one: a green VE60 logbook for a bike that's still showing on the DVLA record with no cancellation is a bit of a red flag. Those old logbooks are just paper, and a seller flogging one on its own doesn't mean there's a bike (or a legit right to the registration) behind it.

If anyone's thinking of buying it for a rebuild or a "reconstruction", the DVLA will want to see real evidence of the original frame and engine, and the frame number 003472 and engine number 404804 would need to match what they hold. A bare logbook with no bike won't get you far.

Might be worth a quick check with the Ariel dating/registrar people to see whether those numbers tie up with a genuine Ariel 3 before anyone parts with cash.
