Sorry for my bad english !
I got a 500VH with differents parts of 1953 and 1956
I would like to install an aluminium hub on a front fork 1953 ( I haven’t the steel brake ). Is it possible ? And if so what are the modifications to do on the spindle ?

There are several BSA fork legs, I did try to list all the differences once to sort out a large pile of them but it was too confusing. As the bike is 1953 I would use the earlier hub as it looks better (my opinion) and is a better brake. Brake plates can be found but many are bent and with dust covers in poor condition. The obvious BSA legs are the 1956-57 ones which use the Ariel full-width hub (FWH) front wheel. However the centre mudguard 'bridge' mounting on the sliders is different for the FWH wheel.
The full-width hub uses a much bigger one-inch diameter spindle, the BSA set-up has the fork-legs closer together so the BSA spindle isn't really long enough.
People often fit the 8" single-sided BSA hub to pre-'56 Ariels (ie with the same front wheel and forks as you) as it gives a bigger brake and only needs the brake plate stay re-working and a new (longer) spindle (although I've seen people adapt the BSA spindle).

The BSA 8" will fit the earlier forks using a modified Ariel spindle by increasing the length of the small diameter, spacer added between brake plate and fork leg and new torque arrangement.
