Protcting paintwork against Ethanol

Hi,
When I painted my NH tank I applied HiCote ethanol resistant lacquer. Unfortunately it orange peeled and I cut back too much when searching for that shine. Needless to say I want to ride the bike (not spend my time re-lacquering) - does anyone know of an automotive wax/polish that might at least provide some protection against the odd spits/drop when refilling?
