Hello Dave, thanks for the tip.
with that I searched on Ebay and found via Tomasselli a 'Super Practic' from a Ducati, pretty rare judging by the price

Vincent.
You might be able to find an old engineering shop that still has a Rank Taylor Hobson pantograph engraving machine and a skilled time served engineer that could engrave the cover.

Re: What brand of twistgrip is this ?
These twistgrips were advertised hard when I was in my teens under the slogan "Chain does the trick". The advert went on to explain that this twistgrip was an infallible cure for repeated throttle cable breakages. I did have one bike which came fitted with such a twistgrip and I don't remember the throttle cable ever breaking. But throttle cable breakages are not too common anyway, in my experience.

Re: What brand of twistgrip is this ?
Side Pull things avoid bending the Cable too but what a job to change the cable. (I'm doing one at the Moment) It's nice to be able to have the throttle stay open (Friction adjuster) when hand signalling (as if anybody, these days has a clue what you are doing) They probably think you are signalling them to pass you. .
