Anyone know where it is today?

It belonged to my father from 1938 til he died and then it resided in my garage until it was sold in 2008 by Cheffins. I know it was then sold in 2012 by Richard Edmonds Auctions.

Any info would be of interest.

DVLA have last V5 issue as 2008 which suggests to me that all owners since then haven't bothered to update the ownership details.
Also the vehicle status is 'not taxed for on-road use', which I think was (is?) only allocated when an un-taxed vehicle has its details put on the computer system (eg if putting the vehicle on the computer system using the details from the old buff/green log book) - which is the case for one of my machines.
For CXL 772 this would show that the bike has never been taxed (or sorned) since its details were put in the computer system.
Must be in a bank vault somewhere....

That reg is not in the Ariel club register but many bikes do not have the reg numbers listed. If you know the engine and/or frame number I can have another look and enter it as a where is it now entry so that if it does appear I can tell you about it. Contact details, preferably an email address would be useful. I wasn't active on the forum in 2017.
