I just spotted this Ariel offered for sale in Germany. Not my bike nor do I know the owner.
The bike seems to have a 1950ish round case engine. Maybe this is of use to anybody?

Interesting, yes the engine is a VCH from 1949-51 but I cannot read the number and the site will not allow UK people to send messages. The frame is from a 1956 HS MKIII sent to Sweden with a racing magneto. Many good parts and some interesting modifications.

It looks like the engine has through bolts.

Yes with electron I would question the Wisdom or Need for that. The round base is only correct for the first 2 Years of so. of the VCH. The Later ones were Just KHA with iron Flywheels. Not much of a thing and disappointing to Many purchasers when they Blew up when raced. Good Ole BSA. Can't have them competing with the Gold Star. IF the through bolts are such they they can cope with the metal's expansion rate then All would be Well. Magnesium has quite a large thermal expansion rate. One of it's Problems, Corrosion being the Other . Nev
