Site migration (Jan 2026)

Post by admin »

The Website and Forum will shortly be moving to a new service provider (ie a new hosting service).
This should take place in the next week or two, maybe sooner if the plan comes fully together. (It's not possible to agree a strict schedule with the parties involved, I have to make the request and then wait for it to get picked up and actioned.)

The actual migration is predicted to take a couple of hours - the domain name will remain the same (arielownersmcc.com) but it may take up to 2 days before the new location details are fully propagated internet-wide.

For the actual website the move may be almost unnoticeable as for a short period the site will exist on both old and new hosts. However, the Forum will have to be put into 'admin mode' (ie shut off from general use) for the duration of the move to prevent any updates being lost in the process.
As given above, hopefully for most people the outage will only be for a few hours.
