Tracy Tools list them, but currently out of stock. Have you contacted them for an availability date?
I'll have a search through my other 'go to' suppliers

Thanks Bob.
The one from the picture is from the States, expensive and over there...
coming weekend is the Central Classics autojumble over here.
I'll go rummaging through the boxes, hope I find one!

Didn't somebody identify an alternative tap and die supplier a few days ago? I looked at their website but I can't remember what they were called now...Bob.Murphy wrote: Wed Dec 17, 2025 9:57 pm Tracy Tools list them, but currently out of stock. Have you contacted them for an availability date?

Re: Wanted 1-5/8" x 20 tap
Hi Simon, looked it up and -as far as I can find..- the largest they have is a 3/4" x 20
Their website uses for all pictures the same item,
so no visual ID on what you are buying, understandable as photographing all the taps & dies you have in stock must be a nightmare...but still
Roger, ah yes thanks! I'll pop by
The thread in the primairy case on the WNG/VB ends too early, the cap does not go all the way.
So all I need to do is cut it a bit deeper....
Hoping to find one for a fiver !

Hi
Could you cut a thread on a lathe and grind some clearance grooves into it? Mild steel would be OK for a few uses in alloy.
Regards Mick
