Re: Head gasket and seals - Iron head VH
Loctite 5920 goes to 275°C. I have it on part of one of my head gaskets and it can be dismantled.
cheers

Re: Head gasket and seals - Iron head VH
The Lapped Iron Head and barrel is the Most satisfactory way to do it of any Method I Know. Lap both faces then wipe the inner clean and lightly oil it and continue Lapping the Outer face for a short time . This SEAL cannot faiL and gives good Heat transfer and doesn't need retensioning. THIS is on the earlier Motors with the wider Inner face. You can soften Copper sheet By Heating but IF you aren't careful you will crater and warp It. I reuse Head gaskets sometimes BY spraying High temp ALUMINIUM Based Paint on it and assembling before fully dry. Easy to dismantle . Nev
