Thank you, checked my Dating Certificate and it states on it that bike was supplied with an 80MPH speedometer, I have had the Ariel for over 56 years so the farmer I bought it from may have changed but with all the parts I got there was no additional speedo?

I know the 100 Mph is worth more but I certainly can't see why you'd need it on a VB. (in a practical sense). These items are Now at crazy prices. (even though the Prices of the Bikes seem to be falling.) Nev

Yes, I have not been able to locate a 80MPH speedo, Karol in Slovensko had one but it was sold when I went to order, mine I have worn numbers when I wiped over with warm soapy water after I serviced the internals, the speedo has come up excellent and accurate, so I have employed Howard Instruments to print me a new dial face as per the original, if you hear of a 80MPH in the same style please let me know.

Just for interest's sake the dial on the 100 mph PA speedo fitted to my 1937 VH is somewhat different to the one pictured with this post. No line at the 30 mph mark, the PA marking is at the bottom of the dial rather than the top, there is no writing at the top of the dial indicating miles per hour and the needle has a small circle near it's tip. It does work although the accuracy may be questionable.

This is something you can't always be certain about because Ariel would give you a 100 or 120 mph speedo if you wanted it. The dispatch books usually indicate which speedo a bike was shipped with.
120 mph speedo for a VB is surely as deluded as those who believe taxes may fall! Excellent bike, but over 60 is tempting an early discussion with St Peter as to why you were mad enough to try it.
