Re: Introduction

Post by Liam.Plant »

Hi again, please let me reintroduce myself:

My name is Liam Plant and a gearbox for a 1934 Square 4 will be arriving next week sometime (Thanks @Dermot.Rogers), clearing the way for me to purchase the 1932 that I introduced above.

Unfortunately, the current owner is deteriorating with his disease and we are not anticipating that he will be much help in finding the stray parts that are in his huge collection. These stray parts include the Mag-Dyno unit and the Battery Platform/storage box for the 1932. Over the next two weeks the family is going to try to find them, as their father started the restoration, which meant that he had 100% of the parts that he needed in his posession.

Can I please ask that anyone who has a 1932 SQ4 to please send photos of the mag-dyno unit (especially ones that would identify the correct one, and the under-seat storage/battery platform and the correct seat (there is no covering on either of the two seats that they have already found)? I can then forward them on to assist with the search.
Of course I talk to myself, sometimes I need an expert opinion :-)

Have a look through Karol's 4f/32 thread. There are some battery tray/storage box pics on p6 (and on general pics of the bike in the thread).

There might also be enough to help you sort the saddle although probably not the magdyno....

Thanks Simon for pointing me to that thread. I now have some good shots of the battery box and seat. It is only the Mag-Dyno that I still need. I have been told that the original will be hard to find, so if it is in the current owner's parts pile I will need advice/photos to identify it.

Thanks to anyone who can help me help the sellers family to find it.

I would not presume to be judgmental, especially as you have taken on an impressive project with the cammy Sq4. Hopefully you can locate all the needed parts and get it completed. I am in the Niagara Region, by the way.

Split later posts into new topic in 'Members Bikes' section, "Liam's 1932 Cammy"
(Hope Liam's OK with the title.... )
