Doesn't the tail of the rear mudguard unbolt and lift clear to allow the wheel to
come out without the need to block up the stand or find a convenient kerb edge?
The detachable mudguard tail has saved my back many times with the 1954
sidecar.

Kevin.
Lock nut on the cable adjuster is on the wrong side.
Should be on the side of the smaller hex head to lock it tight to the cable stop.
Hi
I think the cable adjuster is installed incorrectly, the small hex should be on the forward side of the post and the lock nut between the small hex and the post. At least that's how I've installed mine.
Hi, the rear brake cable adjuster is assembled correctly according to the Ariel Owners Guide Appendum for 1957, see page 43 where there is a clear picture of it.
All the best,
Keith.

Interesting… this relates to my earlier question, as the NH was registered in Nov 1956 (after the September change) would this be seen as a 1957 model??
The registration date would not matter as a new model may languish in a dealer's showroom for quite a while. It would be the date of manufacture that determines the year model. According to the Draganfly Ariel VIN information (downloaded free from their site), the model year starts the previous September so if your Ariel was manufactured after September (1st ??) in 1956 then it will be a 1957 model as I understand things.

Keith

If this is the same machine as one in the register with that registration it was dispatched 16th Feb 1956 so is a 1956 model. The frame number prefix usually changed each year and it this that denotes the model year, irrespective of when it was built, sold or registered. 1956=PR, 1957 is APR. There were few changes in spec between 1956 and 1957, petrol tank, front mudguard and a bit trim below the headlamp. Painted rim centres were dropped from the 1955 season onwards.
